Sick of spam? Brace yourself for bacn

There hasn't been this much spam around since World War II when the whole of Britain ate it for breakfast with their powdered eggs.

But now the cyber-junk scourge of the Internet has been joined by something just a little more savoury – "bacn."

The oddly spelled term has been defined as "any email you receive that isn't spam but isn't exactly a personal message, either."

That could be anything from your electronic bank statement to a newsletter to a website you've signed up on giving you a heads-up for something it thinks you might find interesting.
