At least one big-budget film production company is currently scouting Nova Scotia locations, while a major television series is also tentatively set to begin shooting here before the end of the year.
This was some of the insider gossip on improved tax incentives for the industry that Ann MacKenzie, CEO of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, shared with members of the Halifax business community Tuesday,
"The good news is that we now have the highest film tax credit in the country and that’s certainly helping us to attract some big productions here and it’s helping the local filmmakers . . . because with the higher tax credit they can put more money into production values," the film development chief said in an interview.
