Hampton may re-evaluate his role after election

Howard Hampton hinted Saturday he may re-evaluate his role as leader of Ontario's NDP after the Oct. 10 election, which polls suggest will go to the incumbent Liberals despite intensified opposition efforts to chip away at support for Premier Dalton McGuinty.

During a taped interview for Global Television, Mr. Hampton was asked whether this election — his third as leader of the party — would be his last.

"I like doing this work," said Mr. Hampton, whose wife Shelley Martel recently retired from Ontario politics to spend more time with the couple's young children.
